School Attendance

clock

At Eaton Valley we know the importance and impact of good attendance and punctuality. Poor attendance (below 95%) or poor punctuality have a direct impact your child’s progress, attainment and well being. Being away from school means that your child will find it hard to catch up with their peers and they will have missed essential learning. Your child will also miss essential learning if they are late, the first 10 minutes of a lesson is when new learning is introduced and is often the most important part of a lesson.

Please make sure that you bring your child to school, on time every day.

At 8:40:

  • The side gates leading to the classrooms are opened and children can go to their classrooms.
  • The lunchboxes are placed on the trolley by the children.
    • The teacher takes the register at 8:50 and shares any news for the day.

The first ten minutes of a lesson are often the most important!

If your child is late:

  • They have to be recorded as late in the school office and collect a late ticket.
  • Walk into the classroom alone and disturb the class.
They miss the start of a lesson and then have to play catch up with the rest of the class.

High spec ICT Suite for a fantastic school

ict_suite

Eaton Valley deserves the best. So we have upgraded our already excellent ICT suite to an even better one. We now have some of the best Apple iMacs that you can get. All waiting ready for your children to take advantage of and learn essential computer skills that are so important in todays world.

Teaming this with a great ICT learning curriculum, the pupils will be able to create all sorts of wonderful pieces of digital work which we all know that they are capable of already. Utlising the ICT hardware that we have already, they have managed to produce some outstanding work.

Also coming soon will be a dedicated website that will allow pupils to be able to complete tasks and projects at home as well as show-case some of their own portfolio. Not only this but it will also allow pupils to repeat information that they have learned already and have struggled with in the comfort of their own home and give them the additional time that is sometimes is needed by everybody to grasp difficult subjects and matters.

We hope to see this sometime in the autumn.

Who Will Win The House Cup

We have recently launched our House System, through which we reward pupils who demonstrate a kind, caring attitude and who show respect both for others and for their environment.  The pupils win house points which are collected and announced weekly in assembly.

Each house is also responsible for an area of the school, for which they take extra special care.  Houses meet weekly and, so far, are enjoying very healthy competition.  Click on the links to find out more information on each bird.

The houses are:

Eagle  Eagle Kestrelkestrel
Falcon falcon Hawk Hawk
